Secret Garden and Veggie Growing

Today Pop very kindley reminded me it has been a while since my last blog entry, so thought I'd get tapping! Hope everyone is well.

Pops only gone and entered herself into a best looking cat competition (I kid you not) Well maybe she had a bit of help....anyways she is trying to win herself a life time supply of cat food from wiskas, good luck pop u nutter! :) If you want to vote for her shes on their website.

Anyways back to other matters....

I'm in the process of making some more bits and bobs for the shop and my latest inspiration is the secret garden. Green and yellow beads, charms, flowers and magical themed trinkets, keys and lockets. Will get the photos uploaded when they're complete.

I'm also moving house and I've bought a little wooden sign that's going in the garden that says "secret garden" on. Just becuase i forgot how much I Love it. I will be attempting to grow my own veggies too I'll have you know - Mary lennox style-ee. I'll let you know how I get on! If you do grow your own veggies then feel free to leave me a few tips, i need all the help I can get.

It's short and sweet but will update in a couple of days

That's about it for now but be sure to stop by the shop www.alicelovespop.misi.me.uk or join the facebook group if you haven't yet done so...say hi, the more the merrier!

Glitter Cakes and The New Village Fete

I'm home from the New Village Fete and just had to add a little photo of the stall. It's the first time Alice Loves Pop has ventured out of cyber space and was great chatting to all other stall holders and swapping advice. It was very laid back, the bands were great, the customers were happy and i hear from a meat eating friend the bbq was tasty! The vintage japan earrings were very popular, even the girl behind the bar bought some and popped them straight in. I took a bunch of fresh cakes complete with edible glitter!
Well looking forward to chilling out tomorrow and will be adding a few goodies to the shop - some new bright hair bows, rings and brooches.

Hollie Hobbie, Dresses And My Cat Pop!

So I think it's been about a week since my first entry. Week one of Alice Loves Pop is going well. Why is it when ever you waiting for something exciting in the post it takes aaaagges but those dirty bills find there way to your door!

Anyway, I made the Hollie Hobbie necklace. I quite want it for myself now... I could put two lovely photos in there, I've rediscovered my love for lockets! They remind me of being younger and it was something that" proper ladies" had. Also mum reminded me "i do remember Holly Hobbie - I had a duvet set" okay mum whatever you say.

Ah I also placed my first Etsy Alchemy request. For a gorgeous 50s cream and coral dress. I'm so excited I only paid the deposit 2 days ago but can't wait. The dressmaker in America is gonna send me photos of the process eeekk!! how exciting!! The thought of having something made just for you and shipped over is just brilliant :)

Added a few new items to my misi shop this week. Also in the process of making a few new bits and bobs..... they involve Barbies, Poodles and retro girls........will keep you informed,

Lots of Love (and a meow!)

Oh Here's Some Hairbow slides I've made. I will be wearing one with my new Alchemy dress when it arrives. I'm thinking boho loose plaits and a shabby chic bow, yum yum!x

The Humble Beginning Of Alice Loves Pop

So it's week one in the world of Alice Loves Pop.

We are a brand new jewellery label making kitsch one of a kind and limited edition pieces. We love beautiful, gorgeous, lovely things - especially when we combine them altogether to come up with something extra special and unique.

The idea behind the name was inspired by the amazing and insane film that is Alice in Wonderland when I was recently making some themed bracelets. I love it and wish I could have mad hatter tea parties everyday. I recently had a tea party in my one bedroom tiny apartment in Manchester - was good, but not the same.
Anyway back to the name. Polly Pops is my lovely cat - Pop for short. The name came out of the two things really and I like it.

As to what you can look forward to.......I'm waiting for some really cute Kokeshi dolls to arrive so I can turn them into lovely necklaces. I love the new Gwen Stefani perfume bottles....But I actually think my new dolls are going to be cuter. Will keep you posted. Also coming soon I've got some lovely Holly Hobby Lockets, Barbie themed stuff, Birds and Love...oh and a bit of Pop Art too....its going to be a right old mix, but a beautiful, gorgeous one at that!
